Soundwave secures top bands
Soundwave, a ground-breaking music discovery, sharing and analytics app, has signed up some of Dublin's best bands for private testing ahead of its launch.
Bands include Choice Music Prize winner Delorentos as well as up-and-comers Hudson Taylor and I'm Your Vinyl.
Co-founders Brendan O'Driscoll, 25, Aidan Sliney, 28, and Craig Watson, 29, have spent the last month working with Google at its headquarters in Silicon Valley before travelling to meet Apple in London.
Mr O'Driscoll said Soundwave made finding new music "less of a chore" for users, as well as giving valuable feedback to bands and the music industry on which songs were being played most and where by users after they were purchased.
Matthew Le Merle, a technology veteran and co-founder of San Francisco-based investors Fifth Era, is a director of Soundwave, along with Limerick tech guru Aidan O'Driscoll, whose investments include Betapond.
Soundwave was among the firms hiring at start-up jobs fair Dubstarts last week and its advisers include the founders of LastFM and Foursquare.
