ALISON DAVIS
Alison Davis is Chairman and Managing Partner of Blockchain Coinvestors, a leading blockchain investment firm with a portfolio of more than 1,250 blockchain companies and projects including 110 unicorns. She is an experienced corporate executive, public company board director, an active investor in growth companies and a best-selling author on the topics of technology and innovation.
Alison is currently a board director of Bitwise, Kraken and Pagaya (PGY). She is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Blockchain Capital, Chairman of Renaissance and a director of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Northern California, and Cambridge in America.
Alison has served on the boards of over 25 public and private companies as Chairman, Audit Committee Chair, Compensation Committee Chair and Technology and Innovation Committee Chair. Public board roles have included City National Bank (CYN), Diamond Foods (DMND), Dispatch Management Services (DMSC), Fiserv (FISV), First Data Corporation (FDC), Janus Henderson Group (JHG), LECG (XPRT), Ooma (OOMA), RBS - now NatWest (NWG), Silicon Valley Bank (SIVB), Unisys (UIS), and Xoom (XOOM). Alison is a frequent speaker on corporate governance with a focus on the role of the board in crises and in overseeing innovation and technology.
Alison was previously the Managing Partner of Belvedere Capital, a regulated bank holding company and private equity firm focused on investing in US banks and financial services firms where she worked closely with the Federal Reserve, The OCC, the FDIC and various state banking regulators. Prior to this, Alison was the Chief Financial Officer of Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock), the world’s largest institutional investment firm with more than $1.5 trillion of assets under management where she was part of the leadership team that launched the iShares product range. Earlier in her career, Alison spent 14 years as a strategy consultant and advisor to Fortune 500 CEOs, boards and executive teams with McKinsey & Company, and as a practice leader with A.T. Kearney where she built and co-led the global Financial Services Practice. Alison is active in the community supporting non-profits and social enterprises as a board director, fundraiser and volunteer. She has been frequently named a “Most Influential Women in Business” by the San Francisco Business Times. She received a B.A. Honors and a Master’s in Economics from Cambridge University in England, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business after completing the first-year at Harvard.
